We are looking to appoint x 1 Occupational Therapist into our Reablement Team within Adults Social Care. As an OT within our teams, you will work with Social Workers and Social Care Assessors to promote wellbeing and independence by completing complex occupational therapy assessments, proportionate support plans and by using specialist equipment, adaptations, skills gain and risk management programmes. You will have the opportunity to: Work in a forward-thinking Council and within teams that have clear, shared values. Work with local people to understand their care and support needs and help to identify options available to them. Undertake holistic OT practice including manual handling assessments and legislation that underpins our work. Build on your professional experience by leading on major adaptations to enable people to live great lives. Be pivotal to ensuring people are connected to the support services and community assets they need to live great lives. Receive great support from our proactive and knowledgeable management team. Develop and progress in your career through training and development opportunities. You will have: Degree or diploma in OT (Essential). Up to date registration with HCPC (Essential). Enhanced DBS plus Adults and Children’s Barred List (Essential). Experience of working in a Social Care and/or Health community setting. Awareness of multi-disciplinary working and an integrated approach. Experience of liaising and working effectively with clients, families/carers, other professionals, and agencies. Knowledge of Health and Social Care Policy, housing and legislation affecting OT and moving and handling practice. Ability to assess and manage complex clinical risk. Ability to cope positively with change and promote positive changes. Confidence, energy, enthusiasm, sensitivity, and resilience. Self-motivating individual with the passion to make a difference in adult social care. Resilient personal stress management. This is a hybrid post which means working in one of our Council offices in locations across the borough, completing visits around the borough as well as the opportunity to work from home.
