We are looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking, enthusiastic Occupational Therapist. At entry level to the OT profession, this is a learning post forming part of a comprehensive and varied rotation through areas such as: Acute Stroke Rehabilitation Community Stroke Rehabilitation Acute In-Patient Community Rehabilitation Paediatrics Occupational Therapy Mental health The rotation enables the service to maintain consistent service delivery that aims to assist in safe discharge, reducing length of stay, preventing admission, supporting independent living, as well as promoting general health and well-being for our service users. You will help increase function and promote independence through a range of therapeutic interventions in a variety of settings. With well-defined pathways, both clinically and educationally, we can promote a wider skill set and breadth of knowledge developing careers towards advancing practice. Main duties of the job

Skills for assessing clients and identifying appropriate treatment from a range of options. Manage own caseload assessing, planning, implementing, and reviewing interventions. Prioritising caseload according to need and risks identified. To plan and implement individual and/or group interventions, in collaboration with the patient, using graded activity to achieve therapeutic goals, following discussion with the supervising Occupational Therapist. To undertake Occupational Therapy assessments for a designated caseload, addressing occupational performance and skill deficits, enabling the patient in areas of self-maintenance, productivity, and leisure. To work with patients to identify Occupational Therapy goals as part of the overall care plan. To engage patients in therapeutic activities to promote independence and well-being. To teach patients with disabilities new techniques to carry out activities of daily living including manual handling. This may involve teaching patients and carers how to use new equipment particularly in relation to health & safety and hygiene. To prescribe appropriate minor adaptations and standard equipment to patients. To undertake home assessments, as appropriate within given guidelines, applying clinical reasoning skills to the risks associated with the safety and independence of the patient at home. About us

Qualifications

Diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy Current state registration with HCPC or applied for Experience

Demonstrated broad knowledge and applications of current best practice in Occupational Therapy Demonstrated application of the Occupational Therapy process with defined client groups Demonstrated applied knowledge of treatment techniques relevant to improve and maintain Occupational Performance and Processing for the defined client group Demonstrated applied knowledge of effective planning and coordination of treatment packages Demonstrated understanding of team dynamics Demonstrated ability to effectively use computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office) to support Occupational Therapy interventions Applied knowledge of current legislation Additional Criteria

Documented evidence of Continuing professional development Applied knowledge of Health, safety, and risk awareness Demonstrate current clean driving licence, access to a car with business insurance Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. Salary: £29,970 to £36,483 a year based on full-time hours.
