To provide an occupational therapy service to those accessing mental health services across Lancashire and south Cumbria Foundation Trust. The post is a rotational post, whereby the post holder rotates to a new area of practice every 12 months, ranging from inpatient acute mental health services to forensic mental health. As part of the Occupational Therapy Service, the job holder will be required to work in a variety of clinical areas with an allocated caseload. The post holder will be supervised to develop their understanding of the relationship between occupation, mental and physical health, to provide occupational therapy utilizing assessment from the Model of Human Occupation and C-MOPE. Qualifications
Diploma/BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy (OT) Ongoing registration with Health Professionals Council. Knowledge
Some knowledge of current best practice in OT (including secure mental health services). Understanding of professional ethics and their application in practice Understanding of team dynamics Basic knowledge of health legislation and current practice, including CPA and risk assessment and management Basic knowledge of the principles of clinical governance Health, safety and risk awareness.
