Are you passionate about training to become an HCPC registered Occupational Therapist?

Do you have experience working in a Therapy Support Worker role or experience of working in a health, social, care or school setting? Do you have experience of interacting with members of the public from a range of backgrounds in different settings?

Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to offer this exciting opportunity to apply for an Occupational Therapy Apprenticeship through either the BSc (4-year course) or MSc (2-year course) route.

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will then be eligible to apply to HCPC for registration.

Main duties of the job

You will attend Coventry University 1 day (BSc) or 2 days (MSc) per week. You will work as a clinical Therapy Support Worker with registered Occupational Therapists and other multi-disciplinary team members on other days, applying your new skills and knowledge into clinical practice.

You will complete 1000 hours of clinical practice placements in organisations within Birmingham and Solihull to ensure that you develop the skills to care for people safely, with integrity, expertise, care, respect and compassion.

BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy | Coventry University

BSc applicants: You will need to provide original certificates demonstrating English and Mathematics at Level 2 functional skills or grade C/4 at GCSE, A Level, BTEC, Access Diploma or relevant undergraduate degree (preferably in last 5 years) commences September 2025

MSc applicants: previous degree 2:2 or above plus English and Maths (see above) (degree preferably within the last 5 years) commences January 2026
