Right Now Group are working closely with an International Forwarder who are looking to expand their Commercial Pricing Unit by bringing aboard a new Ocean Pricing Specialist.
The ideal candidate will have experience dealing with Quotations and Pricing for Ocean Consignments.
Responsibilities of an Oceanfreight Pricing Specialist: To cover Ocean - Imports / Exports / Cross Trade Negotiate rates with carriers / hauliers / suppliers and confirm availability of equipment and agree prices where no tariff exists, to maximise cost-effectiveness. Prepare and submit customer quotations and proposals within agreed timeframe Work within our in-house system to create and issue quotations Receive customer quotations via varying methods - email / online portal etc Communicate with customers to manage and follow up all quotes to obtain feedback to measure, analyse and circulate to the relevant teams, adjusting pricing where possible to ensure we secure opportunities. Track success/failure rate of quotes, reporting back to management Develop and build relationships and provide the highest level of customer service to all customers To produce strategic tariffs when required to ensure effective workload and to ensure these tariffs are kept up to date and relevant Monitor carrier websites and notifications
Requirements of an Oceanfreight Pricing Specialist: Industry and operational knowledge of Oceanfreight - inbound, outbound, and cross trade An understanding of how to influence the profitability through effective pricing Able to cope and accustomed to working under pressure to meet fixed deadlines Strong numerical and commercial skills Excellent written and verbal Communication skills Excellent attention to detail Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 Location: Birmingham Shift: Mon-Fri 8.30am-5pm
