Offshore HVAC & Refrigeration Engineer
to join our
Workspace Solutions
team. The engineer will manage multiple service and maintenance contracts, contributing to the overall service provision while working closely with the HVAC Maintenance Manager to ensure delivery within the service and maintenance department. The position is offshore based, covering the
UK North Sea ,
Southern North Sea
sectors &
overseas , with occasional onshore work at our
Inverurie
facility. Duties and Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service, maintaining strong client relationships through verbal and electronic communication. Proactively identify and address additional work requirements, contributing to the growth of the customer network. Support business development efforts by identifying new product and service opportunities. Respond promptly to customer care issues, ensuring timely resolution and client satisfaction. Produce accurate and comprehensive reports, ensuring all records are completed on time. Install and maintain air conditioning, refrigeration pipework, and equipment, including pressure testing, brazing, commissioning, and refrigerant recovery. Perform leak testing, evacuation, and charging of HVAC & refrigeration systems. Service and repair a wide variety of HVAC and refrigeration systems, including rotary screw chillers, compressors, packaged units, and more. Overhaul, rebuild, and repair compressors, valves, and other components, ensuring proper functionality. Troubleshoot electrical control panels and inspect DC/AC motors, compressors, and fans. Service and repair AHUs, including all instrumentation and inverter-driven motors. Commission and overhaul seawater cooling systems and related pumps. Mentor and guide AC technicians and apprentices, providing hands-on training and development. Ensure high standards of communication within the team and with external stakeholders, maintaining transparency and clarity. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental procedures, contributing to a safe and efficient working environment. Collaborate with internal and external teams to develop and implement improvements in service delivery and operations. Qualifications and Experience F-GAS 2079 SVQ/NVQ III or Apprenticeship in relevant discipline (or equivalent) Experience in having managed technicians & apprentices. Possess strong people management and technical skills. Strong communication skills (written and oral), with the ability to communicate with technical staff, business users and upper management with clarity is crucial. Attention to detail and ability to deliver work to a high level of accuracy. Good organisational skills with an ability to work under pressure.
