The Research division seeks an individual to join their desk as an Oil Analyst. This team specializes in providing market expertise to their client base, allowing them to shine a light on the financial oil market. This role is London-based and is on-site 5 days per week.
Responsibilities:
Collect, analyse and interpret information and data across financial oil and refined products market. Present the findings in an easy-to-understand format, including reports, infographics, and on-screen presentations. Support the analytics team in developing a scientific approach to interpreting financial flows and supply & demand tools. Actively participate in projects to improve processes and procedures in developing reports. Build relationships with potential clients across the industry.
Requirements: Excellent MS skills including fluency with Excel formulas and functions. Strong mathematical and analytical skills with a passion for data analysis, commodities, and financial markets. Outstanding English written skills. Comfortable being on camera and involved with regular research update podcasts. Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines. Ambitious individual with a track record of exceeding targets. Confidence in building relationships over the phone. Prior experience or interest in the financial oil and gas sector and knowledge of oil derivatives would be advantageous. Knowledge of coding (e.g., Python, PowerBI, and other relevant data analytics software) is desirable but not essential.
