Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities

The post holder would be responsible for the assessment and treatment of oncology patients with a range of malignancies. They will undertake the following duties: Assist in the supervision of junior doctors on the ward to support effective decision making to ensure high quality care and throughput of patients. Support the effective and timely review of patients in the Acute Admission area of the Division to ensure patient flows are maintained and discharges from the hospital can take place. Attendance at outpatient clinics assisting with patient follow-up and on-treatment clinics. Clinics will be held at either Nottingham City Hospital or Kingsmill Hospital Mansfield. He/she will have the opportunity to select site-specific clinics if desired. Provide support to Consultants and other members of the MDT in the recruitment of patients to agreed clinical trials. Teaching / Education

The post holder would be invited to attend all specialist registrar training and educational meetings within the department. They would be expected to contribute to training junior doctors and students on the ward. In addition, we intend to offer funding and access to the Oncology PGCert/PGDip. Person Specification

Training & Qualifications

Essential Criteria

Full GMC registration and License to Practice. Desirable Criteria

MRCP or equivalent (Candidates who have passed part 1 and/or 2 with or without PACES). Experience

Experience of audit. Previous experience in Oncology. Communication and Relationship Skills
