Qualifications

Level 3 qualification (A-Level, City & Guilds Level 3/ NVQ/ QCF Diploma or certificate of care / Advanced apprenticeship) and/or equivalent experience Functional Skills at Level 2 (Literacy and numeracy/GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths) Further related CPD; i.e. nutrition, physical activity RSPH level 2 in Understanding Behaviour Change and/or Understanding Health Improvement Experience

Experience of working on own initiative Work (paid or voluntary) in a community setting 1 years' experience in a health or social care setting At least two years' experience working in a health improvement setting, including experience within community settings Working in a busy environment Handling a range of public, client, professional enquiries Knowledge

Knowledge and experience of caring for, and empowering others respectfully Basic knowledge of the principles of health promotion / improvement / inequalities / risk and the wider determinants of health Know how to find out about local services and how to support individuals to use them Knowledge of the Lifestyle and One You Services Skills & Abilities

Good communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) Excellent time management skills and the ability to organise own work and use own initiative Be able to travel to locations across Kent in a timely and efficient manner Be able to account for and manage own resources and those of others associated to the service and have an awareness of own limitations Good IT skills Previous experience of working independently Understanding the use of motivational interviewing techniques Experience of working with hard to reach communities Personal Attributes
