This is an exciting role: to be part of a new team in relation to Open data and the Stream initiative, where data will be available for public access in the water industry. This position will take the lead on this; owning the process of data gathering from stakeholders, ensuring data is correct and made available as per regulations. You do not need to be highly technical for this role, but you will need an awareness and passion for Data, analytics and innovation and their uses, as well as excellent stakeholder management skills, attention to detail and experience of working in a regulated environment. We’re at the start of a huge transformation in how we manage and use data to drive efficient and effective outcomes in a host of key areas, delivering improvements for our internal and external stakeholders. You will be implementing our open data strategy and delivering benefit through new initiatives, such as developing a data lab innovation approach and solutions that will leverage our datasets at scale in a consumable format and location. Job Overview

You will be ensuring that the data we publish is within regulatory requirements, by liaising with stakeholders across the business as well as your team of Software & Data Engineers and wider team of Data Scientists to ensure the data and analytics is published accurately and within regulations. You will be the owner of this content. Day to day, you’ll be responsible for: Working with external regulators and internal stakeholders to ensure data is correct and available for public use Ensure internal business stakeholders sign off the use of their data Attend regulatory meetings Define and manage the implementation of a data policy Remain accountable for the data delivered Managing a small team, including a Software Engineer and a Data Engineer (with potential to grow the team in the future) Drive forward plans to create a ‘Data Lab’; helping the business change the way they look and use data to understand problem areas and decision making Triage and prepare datasets for publication About You

To be right for this role, you will have worked in an enterprise, highly regulated setting, ideally within a Data team, so you have a good understanding of data. You will have some management experience and the ability to form strong business working relationships at all levels. You will have the ‘get up and go’ to drive ideas forward with the persuasion skills to get ideas off the ground. You will be excited and passionate about Data and bring that enthusiasm to the table. To be suitable you will have: An understanding of high-level concepts Broad understanding of advanced data analytics and exploratory analysis Excellent communication, persuasion, and collaboration skills Established experience in a senior level role Ability to take accountability for your actions and decisions at a senior level Experience of working with regulators and/or third parties Experience of stakeholder management at a senior level Ability to build trust and gravitas with senior leaders Compliance or regulatory experience Ability to work with both technical and non-technical people Excellent ‘people person’ Experience of delivering regulatory compliance and policies Motivation to drive innovation and change in delivery, insight and process Package
