Job overview

We are currently looking to recruit dynamic, enthusiastic, motivated and forward-thinking individuals to join our team within the Theatre Department at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. The Operating Department Orderly role is vital for ensuring the maintenance of the day-to-day efficiency of the Theatre Department. Main duties of the job

The duties are predominantly that of escorting patients to and from the Theatre Department and wards in a timely manner. You will be expected to have a caring and friendly personality, as you will often be the first representative of the theatre team to meet the patient. There are many other general duties required within the department. An ability to work and communicate with all other members of the ward and theatre teams is essential. As some unsociable hours will be rostered, the ability to be flexible is expected, including weekends and evening shifts. Working for our organisation

Knowledge, Training and Experience

Previous experience of working within the NHS Previous experience of working within a theatre department environment Qualities

Flexible approach to working hours and practices Ability to work in an environment with blood and other body fluids, acting in an appropriate and supportive manner Physical Skills
