Being a small district general hospital there is a real community feel, and all staff participate in a variety of out of work interests, from spinning Classes at the new on-site Wellbeing hub to five a side football at nearby Queens Park.
Our department of 12 Operating Theatres provides a structured induction programme offering supernumerary time to help you settle into your role and is tailored to meet individual needs and requirements. All this is fully facilitated by our own Clinical Educators and supported by our experienced and knowledgeable staff.
Main duties of the job As part of the multidisciplinary team within the Operating Department the post holder will play a vital role in the day-to-day operation and smooth running of the department. They will accomplish this by providing skilled assistance to clinicians during the administration and maintenance of anaesthesia and the undertaking of both scrubbing and circulating duties within a wide range of surgical specialities. They will also provide skilled care in PACU and ensure that the highest possible standards of individualised patient care are always maintained. The post holder will also have delegated responsibility for the organisational and operational management of theatres in the absence of senior staff.
