An opportunity has arisen for a flexible and motivated individual to join the Head, Neck, Eyes and Plastics Business Unit Management Team as an Operational Coordinator.

This is an exciting role for someone wishing to develop their operational management experience.

You will be responsible for the day to day operational running of the Administration Teams to facilitate the smooth and efficient running of the services.

You will also work closely with the Service Coordinator and Service Manager to support the delivery of key performance management targets within the Business Unit.

You will play a key role in the operational support of the Business Unit, working closely with Lead Clinicians, Clinical Team Leaders and staff to ensure the systems and processes are in place to meet local and national targets.

You will be required to ensure the effective delivery of services by providing leadership, support and guidance on operational related issues to both clinical and non-clinical staff.

Leading on initial stages of grievance and discipline, appraisals, acting as an appointment panel member, ensuring that appropriate training is delivered to staff, reviewing work performance and progress.

Main duties of the job

Your main duties will include managing the Business Unit's administrative teams, providing operational support to the services with the support of the Service Coordinator and assisting with service development objectives.

Person Specification

Knowledge/Training/Experience

Essential

Educated to degree level or equivalent experience. Leadership or business administration qualification or equivalent experience. Experience working in senior administration role including management of staff. Advanced IT literacy. Knowledge of full range of operational administrative duties.

Communication

Essential

Excellent written communication skills. Experience of communicating with a wide variety of staff. Experience of dealing with patient complaints and queries.

Analytical Skills

Essential

Ability to analyse financial and performance statistics.

Organisational Skills

Essential

Ability to prioritise workload under pressure.
