About The Role Job Title: Operational Safeguarding Manager Contract: Permanent Location: Plough Lane Offices, Hereford Hours: 37 Salary: HC10 (£44,711 - £48,710) Closing date: 19th January 2025 Interview: 30th January 2025 The role We are seeking a dedicated Operational Safeguarding Manager to join our Adult Social Care service. This role is pivotal in ensuring we provide high-quality social work services to adults and the community of Herefordshire, reflecting our commitment to ethical standards and social responsibility. As the Operational Safeguarding Manager, you will lead and manage the work of the council's adult safeguarding team, working collaboratively with operational services and other agencies to ensure a robust, timely and appropriate response to safeguarding concerns. We are a small and dedicated team that work well together. As part of this role, you will supervise two staff directly and oversee a team of eight social care practitioners including Social Workers. There is a need for an on-site requirement for this role, with some flexibility that can be discussed during the recruitment and selection process. Further information will be available as the selection process progresses. What will you be doing? As the Operational Safeguarding Manager in Adult Social Care, you will ensure the team manages safeguarding concerns and enquiries in line with evidence-based practice, legislation, policies and procedures, meeting the needs of people at risk of abuse and neglect. You will also: Ensure best practice is embedded throughout the service Lead audits of safeguarding practice and contribute to wider audits and service reviews. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with multi-agency partners. Develop and maintain policies, procedures and guidance for the safeguarding team in collaboration with Principal Social Worker and Safeguarding Lead. About You As the Operational Safeguarding Manager, you will be: Professionally qualified in social work practice with Social Work England registration Able to demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development, with knowledge of adult social care, national policy and legislation relating to safeguarding.
