We are seeking a highly motivated Operations & Compliance Manager to support our Operations Director and oversee critical aspects of compliance, training, operations, and continuous improvement across our business. Key Responsibilities: This role includes, but is not limited to: Operational Oversight: Assist the Operations Director with overseeing day-to-day operations. Act as a deputy for the Operations Director when needed, handling communications, queries, and decision-making. Manage the fleet of suction excavator drivers, including job allocation and monitoring. Oversee yard activities, ensuring organisation, safety, and efficiency. SHEQ Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with SHEQ regulations, standards, and best practices. Conduct on- and off-site surveys to identify and mitigate compliance risks. Manage audits, inspections, and timesheet queries, implementing corrective actions as needed. Respond to and monitor vehicle defects using Teamleaf software. Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Identify and lead process improvement projects to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency. Use analytical skills to evaluate current procedures and implement solutions to drive measurable improvements. Training and Development: Oversee HGV Operator Training and other training programmes to ensure staff are up-to-date with certifications and SHEQ requirements. Collaborate with the admin team to maintain training records and schedules. Leadership and Mentorship: Support and mentor teams to foster a culture of accountability and adherence to SHEQ standards. Manage compliance bonuses and ensure adherence to reward structures. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Analyse operational and compliance metrics, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement. Present regular reports to senior management on compliance, performance, and process improvement. Sales and Client Relations: Promote sales by identifying opportunities and building client relationships. Conduct day-to-day, weekly, and monthly audits, ensuring client interactions are professional and aligned with business goals. Hire Bookings and Scheduling: Manage hire bookings, scheduling, and resource allocation to maximise fleet utilisation. Qualifications & Skills: Technical Knowledge:

Deep understanding of SHEQ regulations, standards, and best practices within manufacturing, construction, or plant hire industries. Analytical Abilities:

Exceptional problem-solving skills to analyse complex issues and implement effective solutions. Continuous Improvement Expertise:

Proven track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives in SHEQ and operational areas. Leadership Experience:

Experience managing or mentoring teams to enhance SHEQ standards and compliance. Personal Attributes:

Organised, detail-oriented, and proactive. Effective communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. Flexible and willing to travel 2-3 days per week.
