An exciting opportunity has arisen within JMC Aviation, the world's leading Aviation Engineering, Training & recruitment business.

We are looking to recruit a new Operations Director based in Exeter, to take responsibility for our day-to-day operations of all product lines and service delivery to customers as well as playing a pivotal role in developing and implementing effective strategies to deliver against the requirements of our customer base, maximise revenue and develop and grow our available pool of talent.

The responsibilities of the Operations Director will involve:


Strategy Development and Implementation:

  • Develop and execute the operational strategy in alignment with the company's overall objectives
  • Evaluate industry trends and target strategies accordingly to support growth of candidate pool and successful service delivery to customers
  • Monitor competitor activities and recommend adjustments to the strategy to maintain a competitive edge

Recruitment:

  • Lead the recruitment teams in achieving revenue targets and delivering against customer requirements
  • Ensure best practice recruitment processes and exacting standards of user participation on our recruitment software
  • Lead successful delivery of onsite customer support, ensuring best practice and a tailored approach
  • Develop methods for candidate attraction and growth of our candidate database
  • Develop recruitment models targeted at successful delivery of customer requirements
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and strategic partners

Global Engineering Workforce:

  • Lead the GEW in achieving revenue targets and delivering against customer requirements
  • Identify new international markets for talent attraction
  • Establish strong partnerships with preferred suppliers to support GEW delivery

Training:

  • Lead the training team in achieving revenue targets and delivering against customer requirements
  • Develop training to support delivery of customer requirements
  • Establish strong partnerships with preferred suppliers to support training delivery

Client Relationship Management:

  • Establish strong partnerships with clients, understanding their requirements and providing tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate with the commercial team to ensure client satisfaction and timely service delivery against agreed SLAs
  • Proactively address client concerns and manage escalations to maintain positive long-term relationships

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Recruit, develop, and motivate a high-performing operational team.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to team members, developing a culture of excellence.
  • Set performance targets, conduct regular performance reviews, and implement training programs to enhance skills

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the budget for each product line, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Monitor revenue streams, analyse financial data, and identify areas for improvement.

General:

  • Ensure adherence to all relevant laws and regulations
  • Identify and manage risks within the Operations function of the business
  • Other duties as required by the business

In order to be successful in this role, the Operations Director will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • Align with and demonstrate the core values of the business - Collaboration, Innovation, Integrity, Passion & Unique
  • Previous Line Manager experience with good leadership qualities
  • Good understanding of all JMC services and the market we operate in
  • Good understanding of the candidate market within aviation
  • Ability to undertake challenging conversations
  • Proactive and self-motivated disposition
  • Possess self-awareness and an eagerness to learn and develop
