About BEAR Scotland BEAR Scotland is a trusted alliance between three renowned companies - Vinci, Jacobs, and Breedon. Together, they manage two of Scotland’s four Trunk Road Maintenance Contracts for Transport Scotland. The Opportunity BEAR Scotland is looking for Graduate Engineers or Technicians to further their engineering career in our Operations Department. The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day activities relating to the delivery of allocated work streams by the Operations Department. Key Responsibilities Comply with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures. Deliver allocated individual schemes on time and within budget. Assist with effective monitoring and control of costs. Establish good relationships with clients and customers. Work with supervisors on programming, delivery, and measurement of schemes. Plan day-to-day allocated workload. Draft appropriate risk assessments and method statements. Develop Construction Phase Plans and Health & Safety Files. Assist with on-site and document-based measurement ready for submission to the commercial team. Assist with the delivery of winter maintenance. Assist with depot development. Deliver the cyclic maintenance programme. Input data into the Transport Scotland Asset Management Performance System (AMPS). Assist with fleet management. Your Skills and Experience Qualification in a relevant civil engineering discipline. Knowledge of relevant civil engineering documents and standards. Work towards further qualification / chartered status. Proficient in design and office software. Ability to work to strict deadlines. Commercial awareness. Full approved UK driving licence.
