Astute's Power Team is partnered with a global company, who specialise in the Energy from Waste (EfW) industry, to recruit for an Operations Manager to join their new EfW Power Station in Slough, Berkshire.

The vital Operations Manager role comes with a salary of up to £90,000 + Bonus + Private Medical (family cover) + Pension + Benefits.

Responsibilities and Duties Reporting to the Plant Manager you will be responsible for: Responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the plant. The day-to-day management of the full operations team. Ensuring the power station operates and complies with environmental regulations at all times. Liaising with the Maintenance Manager and other relevant personnel regarding projects, maintenance, outages, costing, and programming of plant improvements. The day-to-day monitoring of plant efficiency and directing the operations staff to optimise the power station accordingly. Preparing the annual budget for the Operations department for review and working within this budget. Carrying out annual performance reviews with operations staff. Preparing reports and presentations relating to the plant's operational activities as required.

Professional Qualifications We are looking for someone with the following: A relevant engineering or technical qualification at degree/HND/HNC level. An IOSH or NEBOSH qualification will be desired.

Personal Skills, Prior Experience and Knowledge The Operations Manager role would suit someone who has: Extensive operations experience in industrial engineering environments such as Power (EfW, CCGT, CHP, Biomass, Coal, etc), Paper Mills, Oil & Gas, COMAH sites, Utilities, etc. Knowledge of environmental permits, H&S issues and safe working environments. Experience liaising with governing bodies such as the EA and HSE. Experience of managing budgets and in the training and development of staff. Supervisory/management experience.

Salary and Benefits of the Operations Manager Role A basic salary of up to £90,000 (depending on experience). Performance related Bonus. Private healthcare - family cover. Potentially a car allowance depending on circumstances. Other benefits.
