The role involves taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of the whole team to ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial transactions and reporting to a range of stakeholders. Staff management in all its aspects will be a fundamental part of the role and in achieving and improving the quality of outputs to strict deadlines.
Overall, responsibilities will also include ensuring the activities of the Operations Team are managed and delivered within a planned program of financial transactions in compliance with statutory requirements. The post holder will be responsible for testing and monitoring of systems and will lead initiatives to develop and enhance current and future systems to ensure efficient and effective outputs.
The candidate will have proven knowledge and practical experience of key accounting principles as well as extensive experience and working knowledge of multi-function systems including Payroll, Purchase Ledger, and Cash Management systems.
The role calls for an individual who has strong staff management and team leadership skills; excellent knowledge and understanding of systems; experience of change management; the ability to communicate effectively at all levels; and be highly organised to meet the diverse objectives and targets to deadlines.
The role is required to have an understanding of Trades Unions and be sympathetic to their aims and objectives.
This appointment will be on a permanent basis (subject to a six-month probationary period), based at the Head Office in Central London. In return, the successful candidate will receive a competitive salary based on the current pay and grade structure, 32 days annual leave, and benefits of a final salary pension plan as well as flexible working options.
