Main duties of the job An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Optical Assistant to join the team. As an Optical Assistant you will work alongside the clinical team in the day to day running of eye care clinics, carrying out diagnostic examinations whilst maintaining high quality care to all patients. Act as theatre runner/escort ensuring that patients receive the highest quality care, and our theatre team are assisted during surgery. Support patients throughout their journey with CHEC and report any concerns. Ensure all equipment is checked and ready for use. Prepare all areas prior to any clinical activities. Adhere to good record keeping and high standards of quality patient care. Person Specification Experience Essential Natural ability to empathise with patients and demonstrate a genuine care. Desire to provide the very best quality and safe patient care. Good communication and strong interpersonal skills. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Desire and willingness to develop in line with the framework and your personal development plan. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and other systems. The ability to learn and adapt to new internal systems. Self-motivated and self-starter with the ability to prioritise and schedule work independently. Approachable and friendly manner to welcome our patients into the clinic.
