About the role... Airbus Defence & Space

are looking for a

Optical Payload Calibration Manager

who will lead the development and management of the calibration and performance verification for the

TRUTHS program . This involves creating and overseeing the methods and tools to ensure the

instrument performs

as intended both on the ground and in

space . You’ll work with teams across engineering, testing, and science to meet customer requirements. How you will contribute to the team... Lead Calibration and Verification: Develop and manage plans to verify and calibrate the instrument, both on-ground and in orbit, ensuring all performance requirements are met.

Technical Oversight: Specify test setups, identify facilities, and guide the performance verification process, including data analysis.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, satellite system teams, and stakeholders to align the calibration strategy with instrument and platform designs.

Support Testing Campaigns: Oversee the performance verification, calibration, and testing campaigns, including ground and in-orbit operations.

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to instrument performance during development, testing, and calibration.

About you... Strong understanding of optics, opto-mechanics, and data processing. Experience with optical metrology and tools like Matlab or Python.

Hands-on experience with optical/photonics systems, including setup, operation, and precision measurements.

Strong ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders, with excellent written and verbal English.

Willingness to travel internationally for work-related requirements.
