CGI are on the hunt for a mid-level/ Senior Optimisation Engine Developer to join the team on a full time permanent basis. We are currently developing a cutting-edge operations planning optimisation system for a high-profile SatComs operator. The successful candidate will form part of the development team within the Space Control Data Platforms and Applications and Information Solutions business unit sector, initially to deliver this project and see the software become operational. Working with a highly experienced team, the successful candidate will be able to work in a hybrid-agile environment, delivering excellent quality code against customer requirements and responding well to change. They will take responsibility appropriate to their seniority for the design of their code and review of others' and be able to test their code rigorously. They will work with the test team to identify, prioritise and fix any defects before delivery to the customer. They will take part in internal and customer workshops to plan, review, and problem-solve. Your future duties and responsibilities Work as part of the development team to deliver new optimisation capability to the customer while improving earlier iterations of the system. Take an active part in design appropriate to their seniority. Produce and update documentation at a defined standard. Design, code, and unit test assigned work packages. Demonstrate new features to the customer. Support factory acceptance, user acceptance, system testing and other assurance activities. Required qualifications to be successful in this role Experience in commercial Java development or other programming languages such as C#, C++. Optimisation engines e.g. Opta planner, Gurobi. Excellent problem-solving ability. Desirable skills SatComs knowledge. Experience with modelling complex systems. Location:
working 1 day per week at Leatherhead, Bristol or London (Possible occasional travel to the US, unlikely to be more than once or twice a year).
