Optimisation Technology Analyst Location: Office based role in Weybridge, Surrey We are now recruiting for an exciting Optimisation Technology Analyst role within our Integrated Supply and Optimisation department under the Planning and Optimisation team. This role reports directly to the Planning and Optimisation Manager. Key responsibilities include: Ensure refinery LP model is maintained and updated. Work with Planning and Optimisation manager, the refinery planning team and unit process engineers to ensure that this key tool for refinery optimisation is fit for purpose. Update process model representation in the LP in coordination with unit process engineers. Upkeep of crude oil database used for the LP model (GRTMPS), refinery planning and scheduling software (FLOWERS) and other evaluation tools. Generate new entries into the database from publicly available assay information and/or supplied by traders as required. Lead upkeep/improvement of crude oil blending and quality monitoring tools. Initiate crude oil analysis request to the refinery laboratory when incoming cargo quality deviates from the information held in these tools. Generate the draft pre-processing report for any opportunity crude oil that can be processed in the refinery in coordination with Planning and Optimisation Manager, unit process engineer and other stakeholders. Conduct/support process or opportunity studies that will bring improved valorisation for the existing refinery asset as required. Conduct/support process for refinery budget. Act as a back-up for Refinery Economist Position when required. Jobholder Attributes: Degree qualified Chemical Engineer with 5 years+ relevant refining experience or suitable professional and technical competence demonstrated through experience. Demonstrate excellent business acumen with knowledge of linear programme models and Refinery economics. Self-starter who can problem solve with an analytical approach. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to optimise and improve profitability of our refining operations.
