The Post holder is required to hold an up to date BOA casting certificate and have experience and be competent in applying a wide range of casts, including gypsona, lightweight synthetic, and soft cast. Able to use a plaster saw for safe cast removal.
Work closely with consultants and the team.
Be able to apply braces and splints.
You will be required to attend theatres and the wards to apply and remove casts as needed.
Main duties of the job

Provide expert clinical knowledge and skills within the department. Work with the department manager and nursing team to develop and promote best practice. Work within their own limitations and competencies. Maintain plaster room safety, including saws and equipment. Attend theatres and wards to apply and remove casts as needed. Experience of working with children 0 - 16 Ponsetti experience. 2 years post qualification in an outpatient orthopaedic setting. Skills
