About us: Hawke's Bay Hospital is a 364 bed hospital providing acute and elective care for the Hawke's Bay region. We have most major medical and surgical subspecialties on site (except cardiothoracic and neurosurgery), as well as paediatrics and O&G. We are well supported by a strong regional ICU team. These may be patients referred for admission on acute days or patients who have previously been cared for by the team and whom the team has accepted for re-admission.

There is a tremendous opportunity to enhance both trauma and elective surgical exposure and experience as we have a new state-of-the-art orthopaedic theatre with daily consultant-led trauma lists. While enjoying a wide variety of inpatient cases, you will also be expected to attend outpatient clinics, theatre, and clinical meetings including Grand Round, X-Ray, and Orthopaedic meetings. We are accredited for the RACS Surgical Education and Training (SET) programme.
