We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Band 5 Orthoptist to join our Orthoptic Team at North Devon District Hospital in Barnstaple. The successful candidate will work alongside a dedicated team of Ophthalmologists, Orthoptists, Orthoptic Assistants, Optometrists and Nurses in a busy supportive department. The Orthoptic department currently provides general adult and paediatric clinics including patients from eye casualty, neurology, stroke rehabilitation team, paediatric vision screening and special school screening. In an extended role capacity, we currently support/work in the following clinics: Dystonia/Botox, JIA, AMD and Glaucoma Monitoring. The post is based at North Devon District Hospital; however, we also hold clinics at various community locations, therefore an ability to travel is essential. We welcome applications from new graduates and offer appropriate development and mentoring opportunities. We provide both BIOS and Trust Preceptorship programmes. Applicants must hold a degree or diploma in Orthoptics and be registered with the HCPC. Working Pattern:
