Working in partnership with the NHS, Blatchford provides the Prosthetic and Orthotic service at Charing Cross Hospital, London.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Orthotist to join our existing team at the recently refurbished Holderness Limb Centre in Charing Cross Hospital. The service provides support for adult and paediatric patients across multiple clinic sites.

The role:

This role is offered as part or full time.

As an Orthotist you will provide a high standard of Clinical Orthotic Care to all patients and assist in the day to day running of the service. You will work closely within multidisciplinary teams across multiple clinic sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting a caseload of clients with a wide range of complex conditions and recommending the best course of intervention. Effectively communicating with informed patient consent, discussing the reasons for the prescription. Providing counselling, advice, and support as necessary to maximise rehabilitation potential and to ensure understanding of condition. Assessing, measuring, casting, fitting, suppling, reviewing, and adjusting orthoses as required. Maintaining appropriate clinical notes and records. Providing training in the field of Orthotics at all levels.

What are we looking for?

Essential skills and experience

Qualified in Prosthetics/Orthotics HCPC registration Member of BAPO/ISPO (desirable) Experience in a wide range of orthotic provision including paediatrics, orthopaedics, and footwear. Able to prioritise and manage workload. Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of communicating with colleagues at all levels. Be able to manage difficult, challenging, and sensitive situations. Good judgment and decision-making skills
