The Community Resource team (CRT) are part of Cardiff Councils Independent Living Services (ILS) work in partnership with vulnerable adults to support them to live independently at home and connected to their communities.

CRT is a joint service provided by Cardiff Council and Cardiff and Vale University Health Board that aims to support adults, through therapy and/or home care, to recover or maintain their ability to live independently at home. The service aims to encourage and support people to learn or re-learn skills necessary for daily living, following a period of illness or after a stay in hospital. The reablement support provided by the CRT will help our citizens discover what they are capable of and give them the confidence to do things independently. About the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Cardiff's Independent Living Services (ILS) Team, Community Resource Team (CRT) as a qualified Senior Occupational Therapist Team Manager.

The successful candidate will manage, support and develop a sub team of approximately 13 staff, which will consist of Occupational Therapists, Technology Enabled Care Officers, Training Officer and Trusted Assessors within CRT Home Care. You will take responsibility for the day-to-day operational delivery of the team, to undertake all tasks required in the management of staff as required by Cardiff Council policies. What We Are Looking For From You

You must be a dynamic individual who is passionate about promoting independence.

The successful candidate will have experience of managing others, with significant proven post qualifying experience.

You will have an in-depth knowledge of the legislation that governs the provision of services and understand and apply the principles of performance management with experience of change management.

You will have excellent organisational skills, be able to communicate effectively, set priorities, demonstrate effective time management and work independently.

It is essential that you possess a degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy, be registered with the Health Care Professions Council, have experience of working proactively with clients with physical disabilities and/or older people, hold a full valid driving licence and have use of a vehicle with business insurance.

The ability to speak other languages, in particular Welsh and Community Languages, would be an advantage. Additional information

With effect from 1st April 2024, this role attracts a market supplement of £3,000 (full time equivalent). This payment is reviewed on a 12 monthly basis.
