We have opportunities for: Qualified Health Visitors Qualified Community Staff Nurses Experienced Health Visitors who want to move into a leadership position or to progress into champion & specialist roles Development Staff Nurses who we support to complete SCPHN training & become a Health Visitor Our dedicated teams are made up of Health Visitors, Staff Nurses, and Nursery Nurses in bases across Reading, West Berks, Bracknell & Wokingham. Working with children aged 0-5 & their families in diverse communities across Berkshire, you'll help to ensure a healthy start for every child. You'll be part of a supportive team, committed to making a real difference in the community. We work closely with our School Nursing colleagues as part of a cohesive and integrated 0-19 service. Main duties of the job

Health Visiting is a universal service available to support all families from the antenatal period up until school entry. Our service aligns with the Healthy Child Programme which ensures every child has the best start in life. Health Visiting duties include: Working collaboratively with other health care professionals and agencies ensuring a seamless delivery of service for children and families within the community. Assessing child and family needs, using the appropriate assessment and risk tools. Ensuring that at each contact with a child an assessment of their health and development need is conducted. To support breastfeeding and parent-infant relationships applying the Unicef UK Baby Friendly Initiative standards. Ensure that the advice, support and services provided take account of client or family's race, culture, religion and language. Full knowledge and understanding of the Local Safeguarding Board Procedures together with Trust guidelines. Exercises vigilance regarding vulnerable families and responds as necessary. Education/Qualifications/Training

Qualified (or about to Qualify) Nurse, Midwife or Health Visitor. Registered with NMC with PIN. Previous Experience

Experience working in the community. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Team players with a passion for working with children & families. Excellent communication & interpersonal skills. Additional requirements

Full valid UK driving licence. Access to a vehicle and ability to travel to multiple sites. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
