Preparing, managing and participating in the outdoor education programme Undertaking outdoor activities and team-building exercises with students Managing the camp instructors – including recruitment and training in the programme Maintaining and updating all risk management, health and safety and other documentation Liaising with school staff around students, the programme, camp requirements, etc. Ensuring the facilities are kept in excellent condition Developing the programme and resources Completing weekly reports to the school as well as an end-of-camp report. The person we are looking for will have experience working in or managing an outdoor education centre, leadership skills, relevant industry-based qualifications, a current first aid certificate and love the outdoors. This role will suit an energetic person who is proactive, takes the initiative, enjoys working with high school students from a variety of backgrounds and introducing them to the outdoors, is able to lead a team and has the ability to maintain a professional and personable manner at all times. In the past, this has been a live-in role, but this is not a requirement if you live in the area or wish to only stay during the week (although accommodation can be provided on-site if you decide to stay). The successful candidate will only be required during the day to run the outdoor education programme.
