SDH Developments Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary company of Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, provides pharmacy services to patients and visitors attending the Outpatients Department at Torbay Hospital. We are now looking for a pharmacy technician to join our team. Main Duties of the Job

Dispense medicines for patients. Order and receive stock. Provide an efficient and effective 'front of house' service for customers, including the sale of medicines. Accuracy Checking Technicians will undertake a final accuracy check on prescriptions. About Us

Torbay Hospital provides acute care for the local community and is a hot-spot for those considering living by the sea or within half an hour of Dartmoor National Park and an hour to Exmoor National Park. Person Specification

Knowledge & Experience

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Understanding of Health & Safety Legislation and Risk Management. Well-developed organisational, time management and planning skills; ability to organise workload and prioritise effectively. Quality-oriented; strives for continuous improvement. Ability to work on own initiative. Pays attention to detail. Methodical, accurate and analytical. Able to work effectively as part of a team. Conscientious, motivated, reliable and resourceful. Understanding of the NHS and the role of Pharmacy. Qualifications & Training

NVQ Level 3 / BTEC in Pharmacy Services (or nationally recognised equivalent qualifications). Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. Evidence of continuing professional development. Specific Skills

Experience of checking complex prescriptions e.g. oncology, paediatrics. Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, and a submission for Disclosure will be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions. Salary: £26,530 to £36,483 a year (Qualification & Experience dependent).
