We are looking for ad-hoc flexible support to help deliver a range of presentations and workshops in schools across Gloucestershire. This is not a permanent position and it does not guarantee employment. It is an opportunity to join a bank which will be drawn upon as and when opportunities arise. GROWS is a consortium of higher education providers within Gloucestershire, led by the University of Gloucestershire. GROWS delivers the Office for Students (OfS) Uni Connect Programme locally in Gloucestershire. The project is funded by OfS to July 2025 with a possible extension for future funding. The project has a remit to work with schools and colleges in Gloucestershire to provide a range of interventions to ensure young people are well informed about their educational options to encourage aspiration and support ambitions to progress to higher education level study (including apprenticeships). We often deliver to large groups broken down into class sizes and require multiple people at the same time delivering the same session.

We are predominantly looking for additional delivery people to give a range of engaging informational presentations, workshops, and experiences delivered both in school and on campuses to secondary aged pupils, their parents, and teachers. Many of these sessions are written and provided for you. There may be additional work available to cover some of the other elements at times. We are looking for a bank of people who have experience with secondary school-aged young people as well as extensive experience of giving presentations and delivering workshops. Ideally, you’ll be someone who is confident in regularly presenting to large audiences of secondary-aged students and can enthuse, motivate, and provide support to young people. You should have personal experience of the UK education landscape, including undertaking a university undergraduate course. You’ll need great IT skills, especially using MS PowerPoint, and an interest in the social mobility agenda. You’ll join a supportive but busy team who will provide training in all the sessions. Delivery will require frequent travel around the region, potentially taking boxes of resources, stands, and equipment. As part of the application process, we will require you to submit a 2 – 3 minute video on a topic of your choice which best showcases your ability to present to a teenage audience. Please email your completed video to

at the same time as submitting your application, and no later than Sunday 12 January. Travel costs will be reimbursed at usual University rates. Closing date: 12th January 2024 Interview date: to be confirmed The University is committed to building a diverse and inclusive staff community and welcomes applications from currently under-represented sections of our workforce. We are proud to be a Disability Confident Leader, guaranteeing an interview to everyone who meets the definition of disability set out in the Equality Act 2010 and the essential criteria contained within the person specification. To avoid disappointment, please apply early; we reserve the right to close this advertisement early if we receive a high volume of suitable applications.
