Ackerman Pierce works closely with County Councils and Schools to provide one-to-one tutoring for children waiting for school placements. The children we are looking to support have a range of additional complex needs, and so we are seeking experienced SEN/HLTA's/tutors/teachers.
We are currently recruiting for Specialist Outreach educators to provide face-to-face provision to students who need access to Alternative provision, which could be due to SEN/SEMH, so experience in this is required. The role is to start ASAP.
Location - Letchworth Garden City
Position - Outreach teaching assistant, supporting a tutor
Start date - ASAP
End date (if applicable) - ongoing
Contract type - Temporary
15 hours per week
Rate of pay - £18 - £23 per hour
Hours - Tuition takes place between 12pm and 3pm Monday to Friday
We are looking for candidates who are:
Available during school hours up to 30 hours per week.
Experienced in delivering differentiated National Curriculum core subjects.
Experienced in teaching young people with a wide range of complex and challenging needs including SEMH/ASC/MLD/SpLD.
Possess exceptional behaviour management strategies.
Prepared to work face-to-face within the community.
Requirements:
Background teaching in English, Maths, Science or SEN classes ranging from KS1-KS5.
QTS status (or equivalent) or unqualified with two years' experience teaching NC core subjects.
Experience working with ASD/EBD/SEMH and associated complex needs.
2 years previous experience working within a UK school.
