Dyer & Butler are currently looking to recruit a P6 Lead Planner to join our Rail Planning division to work in London. Dyer & Butler, part of MGroup Services, is seeking an experienced P6 Planner to join our Rail division. This role focuses on supporting project delivery, work forecasting, monitoring, and producing tender programmes. The successful candidate will act as the primary lead planner within the rail division, ensuring effective NEC contract programme administration and running both internal and client programme workshops. This role covers rail work across the UK and will involve working from various locations but will primarily be based out of our Sidcup or Central London offices, with opportunities for working from home one to two days per week. Job Requirements:

Develop comprehensive tender and delivery programmes using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project. Collaborate with estimators and tender sponsors to understand project deliverables and contribute to the overall bid strategy. Facilitate planning workshops to define and capture project methodologies while considering contractual and operational constraints. Simultaneously manage multiple tender programmes and projects. Support the planning team with day-to-day programme management tasks, as needed. Monitor and update project programmes throughout their lifecycle, ensuring alignment with progress and change management. Provide detailed progress reports and programme narratives to stakeholders. Liaise with external contractors and suppliers to coordinate construction phases. Input cost and resource loading for programmes. Ensure compliance with the Company Management System (CMS) and stay updated on industry trends and legislation. Skills and Experience:

5+ years of planning experience in construction or civil engineering in the UK. Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project. Essential experience in Rail; exposure to M&E, Civil Engineering, and NEC Contract Administration is desirable. Proven track record in producing tender programmes is desirable. Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead planning workshops and present programmes at tender adjudication meetings, client presentations, and internal management reviews. Excellent time and workload management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of programme controls and change management processes. Understanding of contracts’ programme requirements and interdependencies with third-party interfaces.
