I would like to employ a Personal Assistant for my 13-year-old son who has various health issues, including ADHD and Autism. He loves to go out, but due to his limited mobility, he is unable to walk any distance and needs to use his wheelchair. He enjoys shopping, going to the cinema, and swimming. His PA needs to be attentive as he has little sense of danger and will require some personal care, as he is mainly dry but uses continence pads and can have accidents.
Required Characteristics:
Flexible and reliable Experience with young people Knowledge/experience with Autism Driver with own car and relevant class of business insurance (an advantage)
Summary terms and conditions: The rate of pay for this position is £12.50 per hour Hours of work: Up to 3 hrs weekly. Flexible, mainly weekends/holidays 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata paid leave, inclusive of bank holidays Free Careskills training
The post is subject to the following: A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer. Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months
Key Responsibilities: Services: Personal Care Social + Leisure activities Support to remain independent
Training: Safeguarding Adults/Children Autism / Aspergers
Transportation: Full UK driving license Own personal car
Medical: Continence Care
