PA required in NR9 to assist a gentleman on Wednesday mornings 2.5hrs p/w @ £14 p/h - Norwich - NR9
Job Purpose:
I am an active minded gentleman recovering from a stroke that I had 11 years ago. Due to this, I am predominantly wheelchair dependent but can walk a few yards with a walking stick. I am looking to add another Personal Assistant to my small care team. You would be supporting me to access the Therapy Gym on Wednesday mornings and assist me with any personal care as needed while we are there. If the gym is closed, you would help me with completing my activities at home. Those could include but are not limited to preparing snacks, helping me to complete my physiotherapy exercises, accompanying me to my home workshop, and supporting me with personal care (such as toileting and changing clothes). You would also need to be able to cover other team member absences as and when necessary.
You will need to be a sociable person, and although I am not very communicative, I enjoy sharing ideas and reading. Due to the brain injury, my cognitive abilities sometimes make it difficult for me to understand, so you will need to speak clearly and check that I can understand.

Details: Support to access gym and helping me with completing my physiotherapy exercises. Personal care as needed, changing clothes and toileting. Preparing snacks and hot drinks. Able to cover for other staff members occasionally.
Person specification Essential: Clean driving license. Able to drive a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle. Flexible team player. Sociable person with excellent communication skills. Punctual, reliable, and enthusiastic.
Desirable: Experience of transporting wheelchair users, or willing to undertake training. Interest in wood working and inventions.
Summary terms and conditions: The rate of pay for this position is £14.00 per hour. Hours and times of work: 2.5 hours per week, Wednesday mornings between 11:00 and 13:30 to access the gym. Also covering for other PA absences as and when needed. This would be advised ahead of time and would only be occasionally. The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks. This position requires the employee to complete the following free annual training: GDPR, Health and Safety, First Aid, Moving and Handling, Food Hygiene, Infection Control, and Personal Care.
Post is subject to the following: A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer. Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer. Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
