About the Role The Bid & Estimating Lead for the Pacific will manage the bid process on behalf of McConnell Dowell and its partners and ensure that the bid programme is adhered to, and that tenders are successful for a profitable business. Some of the role's major objectives include: In coordination with the Pacific team, identify winning strategies and implement those throughout the Bid Process. Develop and maintain an excellent business relationship with Clients, Client representative/s, contractor partners, subcontractors and suppliers. Identify the resources necessary for the bid. Plan and manage these resources and ensure their effective utilisation. Manage the development of the cost estimate and non-price proposal for bid submissions while meeting company & Client standards. Perform market research and risk assessments as required. Represent the company at site inspections and in pre-award negotiations with clients, suppliers and subcontractors. Assist with technical, contractual and commercial evaluation of offers from suppliers and subcontractors for tender submissions. About You

Competitive and growth mindset, able to take opportunities and shape winning strategies. Demonstrated ability to work independently and apply innovative but practical solutions to complex issues. Focus on meeting objectives and timeframes through the use of Company processes. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction industry with significant exposure to tender/bid submissions, estimating, and/or operational background. Competent in leading and directing others evidenced through communication and negotiation abilities. Strong oral and written presentation ability linked with a sound relationships and integrity record. Competent in use of MS Office, MS Project. Relevant tertiary qualification is preferred. About Us
