Packaging Development Manager
to lead packaging innovation, development, and sustainability strategies across a multi-site operation. Working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure packaging solutions meet both customer needs and environmental goals, while executing the packaging strategy and implementing cost-effective packaging initiatives across this prominent Fresh Produce group. Role Overview Oversee the end-to-end packaging development process, from initial concept to final launch, while ensuring the alignment of environmental, commercial, and operational goals. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge packaging solutions that meet both market and regulatory demands. Packaging Development Manager Key Responsibilities Develop and execute packaging strategies focused on innovation and sustainability Build and maintain relationships with packaging suppliers and waste management partners Oversee the end-to-end packaging development process, ensuring compliance with food safety, ethical, and environmental standards Lead cross-functional teams to launch new packaging designs aligned with product and marketing strategies, ensuring timely market delivery Evaluate the impact of packaging innovations on production, recyclability, and cost-efficiency Identify and drive continuous improvements in packaging processes Research and propose innovative packaging technologies/materials to enhance shelf life and consumer appeal Implement cost-saving measures in packaging materials Packaging Development Manager
Key Requirements Exposure to Food Retail expectations and parameters Strong experience in Food Packaging Innovation & Development Ability to build and maintain crucial relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal teams With a focus on sustainable, compliant, innovative, and cost-efficient packaging, this is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of packaging development across a highly regarded group of businesses in the sector, making a significant impact on both customer and consumer satisfaction. Salary: £45-55k + Bonus Location: Kent (Multi-site) Hours: Monday - Friday
