Responsibilities: Hearing Assessments: Perform comprehensive hearing evaluations using techniques like pure tone audiometry, otoacoustic emissions (OAE), and auditory brainstem response (ABR) testing. Tailor assessments to the child's age, developmental level, and ability to cooperate. Early Diagnosis: Conduct newborn hearing screenings and diagnostic follow-ups to identify hearing loss early. Assess auditory development milestones and intervene promptly.
Hearing Aid Fitting and Management: Prescribe, fit, and program hearing aids or bone-anchored hearing systems for children with hearing loss. Teach families about proper device use, care, and maintenance. Referral Coordination: Refer children to speech-language therapists, ENT specialists, or genetic counsellors when needed.
Qualifications and Requirements: Fully enhanced valid DBS BSc Degree in Audiology or equivalent Valid HCPC Registration Benefits: Weekly pay Free training Fully enhanced DBS check provided free of charge.
