We are recruiting for a 12 month fixed term maternity cover Band 8a Paediatric Clinical Lead to join our team of healthcare scientists. The position is full time (0800-1600) and will be based in Windsor though we work from several sites across east Berkshire. The successful candidate will have a varied workload seeing complex and non-complex paediatric patients, for diagnostic assessment and rehabilitation, with the opportunity to also work with adult patients at times.

A dynamic health practitioner, you are IT literate and competent using Auditbase and DATIX to input data and produce reports, whilst you are a great believer in continuous professional development and quality improvement / assurance processes.

Main duties of the job

Duties include:

Hearing assessment of complex and non-complex paediatric patients (including newborn babies) Hearing aid rehabilitation for paediatric and adult patients Line management of other audiologists within the team Supervision of STP and PTP students Leading in quality improvement and service development work

Person Specification

Education/Qualifications/Training

Essential

Qualified to Master's degree level in Audiology Successfully attained a certificate of clinical competence, such as Certificate of Audiological Competence, Higher Training Scheme, Scientific Training Programme or equivalent Current HCPC state registration with evidence in CPD in accordance with HCPC standards

Continuous Professional Development

Desirable

Study to a higher level is desirable, advanced course in Audiology, management and/or Doctorate Training/supervisory/mentoring qualification

Previous Experience

Essential

To have demonstrable post-qualification experience working autonomously in both diagnostic & (re)habilitative adult and paediatric audiology. Have evidence of management/supervisory experience Have evidence of sound knowledge and clinical experience of a full range of both basic and advanced paediatric and adult assessment and rehabilitation techniques

Desirable

Have wide knowledge and experience of NHS networks/referral routes. Have experience of clinical audit, research, and presentations at scientific meetings

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Essential

Evidence of excellent communication and interpersonal skills Possess good IT skills and ability to collate, manipulate and analyse data. Evidence of an enquiring mind, a scientific approach and a commitment to the ideal of the NHS

Desirable

Possess fine manual dexterity
