This post is for a substantive consultant anaesthetist capable of delivering high quality anaesthesia across all main surgical paediatric specialties. The duties will also include but are not limited to teaching, continuing medical education and quality improvement activities. The post holder will be expected to participate in the paediatric on-call rota. There are separate on call rotas for adult general surgery/neurosurgery and obstetrics, adult ICU and adult cardiac. We are a busy and expanding Trust. Some weekend elective, emergency and trauma anaesthetic cover will also be required. An appropriate allocation of programmed activities will be agreed for this work. We aim to be flexible and strongly support a healthy work life balance and are happy to receive applications from less than full time. Essential and desirable
6 months advanced level experience of paediatric anaesthesia in a tertiary centre. Training and experience in Paediatric Intensive Care and the transport of critically ill children. Level 2 Child Protection Training. 1 year fellowship in paediatric anaesthesia in a tertiary centre. Experience in the provision of paediatric preoperative assessment and pain services. Research / presentations / publications in paediatric anaesthesia. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
