You will be required to provide evidence-based dietetic advice to children and young people with diabetes. A knowledge of carbohydrate counting education, insulin pump therapy, and continuous glucose monitoring is required. The role includes a mix of one-to-one clinics and diabetes group education, including DAFNE and carbohydrate counting sessions delivered virtually and face to face. As a band 7, you will be one of the senior members of the paediatric dieticians team. You will support the paediatric diabetes team and dieticians team lead in monitoring, developing, and evolving the dietetic service across the Trust and provide support to the junior members of the team. We are looking for a Dietitian with strong communication, organisational, teamwork, and leadership skills with a passion for Diabetes. They should be focused on providing a high-quality dietetic service that is evidence-based and responsive to the changing needs of the NHS and this patient group. Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to work closely with the other Diabetes Dietitians within the Trust and lead on clinical and service development projects. Together, you will be the experts on nutrition in this field, and will seek opportunities within the MDT to lead on service improvement, audit, and research, raising the profile of Dietetics within the team and organisation. Education/Qualifications

Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent postgraduate qualification Member of the BDA Member of Paediatric DMEG Knowledge & Experience

Advanced knowledge of evidence-based practice in paediatrics including Paediatric Diabetes knowledge Extensive clinical dietetic paediatric experience including paediatric diabetes Evidence of continuing professional development Experience/awareness of working within a varied multi-cultural population Knowledge and application of counselling skills/motivational interviewing/behavioural change Previous experience of conducting audits and/or research for service development Experience in managing insulin pumps Skills, Abilities and Attributes
