Paediatric ED Clinical Skills Facilitator

Would you like to be actively involved in the growth of the workforce within Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Trust? The Medicine and Emergency Care Division are pleased to announce a Paediatric ED Clinical Skills Facilitator post within the Practice Development Team. We are looking to recruit a Band 6 Clinical Skills Facilitator (CSF) to work alongside and report to the Band 7 Practice Development Nurses from this Division. These exciting positions would suit a candidate who has recent acute clinical experience and would like to gain experience and development in delivering supervision and education to clinical staff. Main Duties of the Job

The Practice Development Team leads on a number of initiatives which focus on person-centred and evidence-based care. Committed to the recruitment and retention of staff, they are dedicated to ensuring that teams work effectively together in innovative and forward-thinking environments. We are searching for candidates who have a natural drive for improvement, with the right personal attributes to support varying levels of learners within our clinical areas. These valued team members will work to provide support to a range of clinical staff. Areas of scope include: Supporting new starters, including overseas and return to practice nurses. Clinical skills teaching. Recruitment and retention initiatives. Supporting learners within the clinical environment. Supporting quality improvement projects. Once your pre-employment checks have been completed, you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date, which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions. Following your Corporate Induction, you will be expected to attend the Trust's 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs, and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please email mtw-tr.professionalstandards@nhs.net if this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions, and e-learning. Qualifications

Registered Nurse (Adult). Practice Assessor / Mentorship / Teaching and Assessing qualification. Degree in Nursing, or willingness to undertake. Evidence of continuous professional development. Award in Education and Training - level 3 (was Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector). Certificate in Education and Training - level 4 (was Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector). Diploma in Education and Training - level 5 or 6 (was Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector). Experience

Post-registration clinical experience in an area supporting learners. Experience of identifying and assessing learning needs. Experience at Band 6. Experience of delivering training. Skills

Current PILs. Triage and minor injury competent. Good teaching and assessing skills. Good communication skills (face to face, via telephone, email, and in writing). Good interpersonal skills (confident and assertive; able to communicate well on all levels). Information technology skills (including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, email, and internet). Able to demonstrate practical skills to others. Ability to prioritise workload and manage time efficiently. Able to provide constructive criticism in a positive and non-threatening way. EPALS or equivalent. PNA. Paediatric IV Competent. Good report writing skills. Ability to develop an individualised orientation programme. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
