Job summary We are looking for 2 dynamic, enthusiastic band 6 nurses to join our team as a Junior Sister/ Charge nurse. Do you enjoy being a leader and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team? Are you an experienced Band 5 nurse or current Band 6 nurse looking for the opportunity to develop your management skills and enhance your ED skills? Is a fast-paced working environment for you? This exciting role requires a level of clinical expertise, along with the ability to manage a complex department alongside the paediatric nursing and clinical leadership team, negotiating flow into the Children Ward and Short Stay Unit. As a Junior Sister/ charge nurse you will be expected to drive and deliver patient care in a challenging environment, we are looking for a dynamic individual to maximise the consistency and effectiveness of the service provided to the local community. You will be a Registered Paediatric Nurse with substantial post registration experience in a Paediatric ED or Acute Paediatric setting (Appropriate ward level experience with transferrable skills will be considered). Candidate will be responsible for leading as Nurse In Charge in the absence of a band 7 nurse. They will be responsible for ensuring patient safety and improving patient care. They will be expected to get involved with completing audits and clinical governance within the department.
