Person Specification

Education qualifications and training

Essential

Band 6 for 3 years+ Registered Sick Children's Nurse (NMC Sub-Part 1(Children)/RN Child) PET 1 BPNA course First degree in nursing or experience at this level

Desirable

Completed/completing a Masters pathway PET2/3 BPNA course

Skills, abilities and knowledge

Essential

Advanced clinical assessment skills Able to work autonomously and within a team Previous experience of formal / informal teaching of patients & staff Ability to initiate, sustain and evaluate change Skilled written and verbal communication skills Experience in managing epilepsy patients in hospital/community setting

Desirable

Previous experience in audit and evaluation Non-Medical prescribing course Experience of applying research evidence to clinical practice Participating in nurse delivered clinics Extensive epilepsy experience

Experience

Essential

Currently working at a minimum of Band 6 in acute paediatric setting/relevant area
