We wish to enhance our current team to enable children with various exceptional needs to be cared for in their own home or educational setting. This post is comprised of days and nights 365 days a year, within the family home and the post holder would be expected to be flexible in their working hours.
This is a very rewarding post to enable these children/families to be able to access education, allowing parents to have a restful sleep overnight knowing their child is being cared for to a high standard. The post holder will be joining a team to support the children within the service. The post holder will accompany the child and/or family during school/nursery, hospital appointments/admissions, outings and respite etc during their shift.
Experience of working with children and/or community care experience is essential to this role.
Children at present live within various locations throughout NHS Highland and travel is an essential part of the role; however, travel will be limited to within 60 miles from base. We are particularly interested in recruiting into the Raigmore and Fort William base.
You must have a full driving license and have access to your own car for business use.
Full and part-time hours are available. These posts are offered on permanent contracts; however, secondments will be considered.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
