We currently have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate as a full-time Medical Secretary. The post will provide an extensive opportunity to build and develop secretarial skills working for our service. We are looking for someone with good experience within the NHS, who is enthusiastic and willing to learn. You will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate that you can work strongly within a team. You will need to liaise with patients, clinicians at all levels, and managers within the Trust and at external organizations. Time management skills are essential as you will need to balance the demands of a very busy workload. The medical secretary role is key to delivering an effective service to our patients. This role provides efficient and high-quality secretarial and administrative support to consultants and their teams, working in close cooperation with staff and other health professionals. Qualifications and Training
Good general education including GCSE in Maths or English (or equivalent). Higher level education, qualification in business administration or an admin NVQ. Typing 60 WPM minimum. Experience
Years of experience in a hospital environment. Experience of working within a hospital. Experience in establishing/maintaining robust admin systems. Experience of working with multidisciplinary teams. Experience of working within paediatrics. Skills
