Paediatric Nurse – Rare Disease Clinical Trials Bank Competitive Rates We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Paediatric Nurse with experience in rare diseases, to join our dedicated team. This role will focus on providing phlebotomy and clinical measurements for children with complex needs in the home setting. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in paediatric intensive care and be comfortable working around patients who require advanced airway management, ventilator support, and complex care for children with neuromuscular disorders. You will play a critical role in providing high quality clinical skills and family-centred care, that meet each child’s unique needs. Your role as a Rare Disease Clinical Trials Paediatric Nurse… · Collection and processing of lab samples: Deliver specialised phlebotomy and sample processing services to children diagnosed with X-Linked Myotubular Myopathy with skill and sensitivity, applying in-depth knowledge of rare diseases, and complex care requirements. · Patient Assessment and AE reporting: Conduct comprehensive assessments, interpret vital signs, recognise signs of deterioration and report as appropriate. · Coordination of Care in Home and Clinical Settings: Facilitate the transition and continuity of care from clinical environments to home settings, working closely with family members, caregivers, and community healthcare providers. · Family and Patient Education: Provide thorough education to families and caregivers, empowering them with knowledge and confidence in managing at-home care for ventilator-dependent children. · Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient interactions, assessments, and interventions in compliance with regulatory and organisational standards. Report changes in patient condition promptly. · Professional Development: Engage in ongoing learning to stay current on best practices in paediatric nursing, rare disease management, and ventilator care. Attend relevant training, certifications, and educational programs. The ideal candidate will be: · Registered Paediatric Nurse (UK): Must hold current, valid licensure to practice as a Paediatric Nurse in the United Kingdom. · Experience: Minimum of 2 years in paediatric nursing, with specific expertise in intensive care (ITU) or accident and emergency (A&E) settings. · Complex Care Experience: Proven experience in providing care for children with rare diseases or complex medical needs, especially those requiring ventilator support. · Blood Draw Proficiency: Significant experience and comfort with drawing blood and managing IVs in paediatric patients. · Travel Flexibility: Willingness and ability to travel as needed to provide in-home care or attend appointments at various locations.
