We are seeking a compassionate, proactive and caring band 5 Paediatric Nurse to be part of our experienced and established Paediatric Emergency Department Team. We are looking for kind, highly motivated individuals with a passion to provide excellent patient centred care. This post provides the opportunity to learn and develop clinical emergency skills, caring for those with minor injuries and illness as well as those critically unwell.

You will be working in a fast paced environment and will need to be able to prioritise care effectively as patient flow through the department is crucial. All our members of the multidisciplinary team are motivated and take pride in being role models for delivering high standards of care. We continuously strive to achieve an outstanding department creating an environment where our staff are happy, supported and learn every single day alongside our senior nursing team and Paediatric Emergency Department Educator.

Main duties of the job Delivering high quality patient centred care in a timely manner, triaging patients and assessing the priority of their clinical presentation. Providing emergency care and treatment to patients requiring resuscitation. To work alongside the wider team to always ensure efficient patient flow. To work closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team. To be professionally accountable for all actions during working shift. To be aware of and engage fully with own training and developmental needs within the clinical environment. To supervise student nurses and healthcare assistant nurses in the giving of patient care. To be fully aware and comply with Trust policies and procedures.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Registered Nurse (Level 1 or 2).

Training Essential Willing to undergo training as necessary. Ability to demonstrate and explain skills to other staff.

Special knowledge Essential Current issues in health care Standards of Professional Practice.

Desirable Awareness of speciality.

Practical Skills Essential Ability to organise and prioritise workload. Good written and verbal skills. Understanding of skills and knowledge required to develop team members.
