Main duties of the job

The post holder will: Provide evidenced based, high quality assessment and care to children and their families attending the Emergency Department. Supervise, support and educate other team members, including nursing and medical students. Develop and maintain advanced Emergency Nursing skills. Advise on health promotion and prevention of illness/injury. Advocate for children and families. Ensure safe and effective clinical practice and enhance patient experience. Ensure the promotion and implementation of trust policies and the effective delivery of organisational objectives. About us

Qualifications

RN Child with NMC registration. Degree in relevant health subject. Experience

Prioritising and organising workload, delegating and supervising tasks appropriately. Analysing, resolving issues and making sound judgements on clinical issues, using initiative, whilst demonstrating an awareness of own limits. Working collaboratively with multiple members of the internal and external multidisciplinary team. Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. Mentorship, teaching and assessing. Knowledge

Acute, chronic and emergency paediatric care. Safeguarding children and young people within the Emergency Department. Skills

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Caring and compassionate towards patients, families and colleagues. Able to remain calm, focused and work under pressure.
